Will Tomorrow Do?

I got in touch with Mary (Taylor's S.Needs Health Visitor) today and told her about his DLA being granted etc and asked her if she could come and help us fill out the forms for Carers Allowance. She said yes and then asked me if tomorrow at 10am will do? I couldn't believe it when she said tomorrow. I was expecting it to be end of week or maybe next week, so I'm really pleased. I am entitled to claim it as Taylor gets the 'Middle Rate Care Component' and it's £48.65p a week and will also be backdated from when he was allocated his Claim which was 13th December 07 so i will have a nice lump sum of cash in the bank pretty soon.

Speaking of money!! Tony suggested this morning that i book a weekend break away somewhere with mum to have some 'me' time after being left alone with kids for 2 weeks straight!!! I had a word with mum today and she wasn't very taken with the idea of a full weekend so after a bit of talking we decided to go away for just one night but instead of just us two going, we're going to take Dana with us. I feel a bit guilty that all our attention is on Taylor (as well as Dana) and she is feeling a bit left out, so we decided to see if we can find a hotel or travel lodge near Blackpool and stay there for the night (Saturday) and then get up early the next morning and go straight to Blackpool and spend a full day there and come home later on that night. I said I'd scout the web and see if i can find somewhere to stay and then look at places to take her like Blackpool Tower or Madam Tussuad's. She has been to both before but was only a baby (around 2 yr old) and other than looking at picture's doesn't remember going to either, so i think she will like that. It would be nice to get away just myself but i want to spend some girly time with Dana for a change as it's desperately needed with her at the moment. Tony will have to stay here for the night and look after Taylor!!!

Anyway, if i can find somewhere to stay we are going to go next Saturday and come back on Sunday, that way Dana can still go to her Dads on Friday and Taylor can still go to mums too. Which leaves our Friday free for me & Tony to spend some time together on our own before we go. I'll get him to take me out for a meal or go bowling or something. I've missed our Friday's out since we've been skint. Now we have a bit of money spare it's nice to indulge (within reason) and it benefit's everyone. Right, well I'm off to do some research now. xXx
