I was very nicely informed of a website to go and visit for financial help with holiday's, household appliances and driving lessons plus loads more on Wednesday at the Early Bird course which is going very well and i love every minute of it. I have learned so much from it. Taylor is loving it too and has made friends with 2 little boys called Theo and Sonny.
The website is http://www.familyfund.org.uk It's got lots of information on what you are entitled too and also how they allocate you the money. You can get funding for holiday's to Haven (our favourite holiday place) and they open an account with them and the money goes into an account with them that you then use to book either one long holiday or if you have enough funding maybe even 2 holiday's. You are also able to take along additional people but for obvious reasons if it comes to more than what you're allocated funding wise you make up the difference. It sounds fantastic. I rang them yesterday and they are going to send me an application pack through the post. I've been told they ask you for 3 most important things, we have decided on 1. Holiday, 2. Driving lessons (for me) and 3. new Washing Machine as ours is on it's way out and isn't under guarantee anymore. The barrings are going on it and i can't have it on at night as it makes enough noise to wake the dead!!!!
Everything else is going very well at the moment. Taylor's meeting is getting a lot closer and I'm starting to panic a little bit more now lol. I was talking to Sue today at Nursery and she said Vicky (speech therapist) went in yesterday and showed them how to get him to ask for things by saying "i want?" with and without his PECS like we've been doing with him. Sue said he's doing great with them and asking for things all the time now without the PECS but sometimes takes a picture to them when he's not quite sure how to say it!!!
I've just been playing on Facebook and found loads of people i went to school with and a few family members (on my husband's side) through friends i went to school with, which was surprising!! Then again, i went to school with Tony's niece Laura and she obviously knows people i knew so that could account for finding all the people i did through other friends!!! I haven't added many of them, i must admit some of us never got on at school so i can't imagine us getting along now lol. I will accept if they add me, but I'll let them make the first move!! (I'm stubborn lol)
I know i don't normally post in this blog much about what i do personally in my own time but seriously, it's good fun and really gives you a chance to 'get away' from it all even if it's only for half hour a night or week. Give it a try, you never know who you'll meet that you'd forgot about and maybe make some new friends along the way!! xXx
