I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has followed this Blog and given their support throughout everything.
As you can see my last post was back in 2010. Almost 3yrs ago.
A LOT has changed since then and though I would love to bring you all up to speed on what's happened, I will probably be here for another 3yrs!
Taylor James is now 9yrs old and is currently in year 5 of his Primary School. The school he is at now is AMAZING. I cannot praise them enough for taking him on when we needed them to and getting him to where he is now. They have gone above and beyond of what has been asked of them via his statement. I recently joined in with one of their Autism courses which entailed the whole school staff being present! ... They have become a bit like an extension of our family, we need them as much as they need us and we all get along so well.
YES, god yes, there has been rough times and downs as well as ups and amazing times, but we tell it as it is. Whatever the problem is/has been we know we can all work together to find the solution that's best for everyone.
Taylor is now age appropriate with his speech and knowledge and understanding of it too but still lacks conversational skills, ie; striking up an appropriate conversation and taking part in one. He will talk for hours on end about his favourite things or things of interest to him, but when you need to talk to him about other things, he switches off and constantly interrupts! - That said, there is NEVER a dull moment when he's around!!
I am now in the position where I have to start looking into High Schools with a view of him attending one of them in 18mths time *scary*
Since I last blogged, amongst other things, we moved house. VERY stressful period, yet Taylor coped with it brilliantly throughout. He is much more settled here at the new house. We've been here 4 months now and his behaviour has improved dramatically.
I am sad to say that I am now fetching this Blog to a close.
Each day I am finding it more and more difficult to find time to Blog. I don't even go on Facebook all that often anymore either. In fact, I am considering deactivating my account after xmas.
For those of you who would like to keep up to date with us on a daily basis, then please feel free to follow us on Blipfoto. I have my own Photo Journal on there and Taylor also has one of his own too, though he doesn't do his all the time so keep an eye out on mine as when he does, I always post a link to his to make people aware. The links to both are bellow.
In the meantime, ..........
THANK YOU and GOODBYE
It has been my genuine pleasure and honour to have shared our journey with you all. I hope it has helped in some way or another.
Take care and keep smiling xXx
