A Very Merry Xmas

Christmas was brilliant this year and went extremely well. Better than expected. Taylor took about an hour to open his presents and after every one he opened he played with it for 10 minutes or so before opening another one!! He was really good and took it all in his stride, we tried hard not to make too much of a fuss when he opened 1 present and didn't want to open any more for another 10/15 minutes. I focused mostly on Dana and what she was doing, while keeping an eye on Taylor to see what he was up to at the same time. We was worried that she might have felt a little pushed out with Taylor wanting all the attention playing with his new toys and opening the rest of his presents but luckily for us we bought her a new mobile phone and she was obsessed with that and spent all her time listening to her mp3s on it driving us all mad!!! I made sure it already has songs and stuff on it ready for when she opened it so she wouldn't spend all day bugging me to go and do it on the PC all afternoon.

We finally coaxed Taylor into opening the remaining presents he had left, lastly being his new wooden train set. By this time Dana had disappeared into her bedroom with her new toys and phone to charge it and was happily putting her stuff away and listening to music on her phone whilst on charge so she didn't run her battery down!! In the meantime i helped Taylor set up his new train set and he played happily for a good hour on his own while i finally got to drink a brew and have a fag (first one of the day at 12pm - I'd been up since 7am!!) Tony made us some dinner (bacon butty) and we sat around the table chillin' for a bit while the kids were in their bedrooms messing with new annoying noisy things!!! Taylor suddenly came hurtling towards us at full speed from the living room shouting at the top of his voice "WHERE'S MY DANA?" we told him she's upstairs. He stood at the gate and shouted "up step" so we opened the gate and off he went step by step then run along the landing to her bedroom, banged on her door and shouted "there you are" then silence! About 15 minutes later we heard screaming (Taylor) and shouting (Dana) so we went up to see what was going on. Taylor was dancing around her bedroom while she was sprawled out on her little sofa listening to her music on her phone. I asked what all the screaming and shouting was about and she said he'd turned her new disco ball on and was trying to sit on top of it while it was spinning around!! He eventually lead down on the floor and watched the lights on the ceiling and the ball go round, then got up and started dancing again, so i left them to it and came back downstairs to finish off my brew.

We set off to go to mums at around 1pm and once again the mayhem of present opening began again and Taylor to everyone's surprise was more interested in watching Dumbo than opening any of his presents. So we left him to it and fussed over Dana while she opened all hers. Not long after opening her presents she disappeared next door to her friends house then came back with her and they both sat on the stairs steps playing with their new phones and comparing them both!! She went to her dads at 4pm and then we fussed over Taylor and got him to open the rest of his presents he'd pushed aside to watch top gear!! He got lots of things and played with some Thomas books and a pair of binoculars to read them!!! I will have a look at what he did get and write a list to post in the next few days.

All in all Xmas has been really enjoyable this year and quiet. Jonny & Donny went to their mums and Lee & Josh was here but Josh disappeared to his m8s before dinner then we went to mums with Lee. We went back to mums yesterday for tea and Lee went to his girlfriends. Dana came back just after 6pm and went straight next door to her friends house!!! We came home at about 7pm and Taylor headed straight into the living room to play with his train set then made Tony get down on the floor and do his Roary The Racing Car jigsaws with him. We struggled getting him to bed but we got there eventually!! I was surprised at how well he reacted when we fetched him home. He stayed at mums Xmas day night and yesterday before we went to mums for tea i re-arranged the living room and dining room to accommodate his new toys and scrapped all his old ones while he wasn't here to tell me to "put it back". I expected him to go nuts but he hasn't bothered one bit and has took toys off the unit and put them back where i had them and the same with his toy drawers in the dining room too.

He has been an absolute angel today. Because we were the only ones in all day (until 5.30pm) he loved every minute of it as he got his 1-2-1. We've played with all his toys, old and new and watched TV and had lots of snuggles and kisses. He's been in a really loving mood all day. I finally managed to get him to bed at 6.50pm, he is still awake now (i think) and it's 8.50pm. He was absolutely knackered when i took him up and was on the verge of falling asleep on the floor (hence i took him to bed early)

Donovan came home with Tony about 45 minutes ago and he opened his presents. Finally he can watch the new Harry Potter!! He's been asking for it for ages and we've been telling him we haven't managed to get it yet!! He didn't get a lot really but him, Dana and Taylor all get £50 in January to spend on new clothes and stuff they need in the sales. At the moment in time Dana is sat at the opposite end of the table to me filling in her new Bratz Diary!! Tony is having a shower and Donovan is watching Harry Potter!! I am obviously typing this but am now off to make a brew and go and watch a DVD with Dana before she goes to bed at 11pm so until i blog again (next few days or so) Take care, enjoy what's left of Xmas and have lots of fun. xXx Vix xXx
