Happy 2008 everybody, even though i am 27hrs and 40 minutes early hehe. I won't be blogging tomorrow as i will b e busy cleaning up and getting ready for our yearly New Years Eve get together. Every year now for the past 3 years mum & dad come to ours, we have a drink, something to eat and nag each other to death!! Me, Dana & Taylor usually have a sing and dance around the dining room like lunatics then flop on the floor in big bundle breathless, hot and sweaty!!! I can almost guarantee Taylor will love every minute of it as that's what we normally do on a daily basis anyway at some stage of the day!! We dance to all kinds of songs and the Haven Holiday party songs so he loves that as he knows all the dance moves. Dana had him doing the Superman song last year, he copied every move to the song she made then when it had finished he asked for it to be on again and did it all on his own. We was so proud of him.

Speaking of being proud, Taylor has been completely naked 90% of the day today, used his potty 2ce then asked to go to the toilet. I took him to the downstairs toilet and he held his arms up for me to put him on the seat. Before i could lift him up he pointed to his potty seat (seat that goes on the toilet shaped like a potty) I put it on the toilet and he climbed on. He sat there for about 10 minutes (nothing done) then told me to "shut the door moma" so i shut the door then another 10 minutes went by (still nothing done) he finally got down and flushed the chain then washed his hands (one of his useful obsessions) and headed off into to front room to watch cbeebies as Tommy Zoom was on. Somewhere around 20 minutes or so later, he ran off into the toilet himself (i dared to leave the door open and the light on to see if he'd go back) and clambered onto his seat and shouted "moma, i weeded" i ran into the toilet shouting "well done baby, good boy, big boy" once i reached the door he got down and looked into the toilet. He hadn't done anything at all!!! He looked at me and said "ooh sorry" and smiled. I told him "never mind, try again later" and he came out to go and watch cbeebies again. I was a little disappointed but still very proud of him for asking to go on the toilet in the first place as it's something he won't normally do. He doesn't normally go within 2 feet of the toilet unless we're emptying his potty down it and flushing the chain. Then we wash his potty and his hands and he comes out. It's a good start though and i will try again with him tomorrow. The main problem we're having with him with his potty training isn't that fact he won't use it, as he does regularly but he won't use his underpants or pull his pull up's down. He just sits on the potty and wees with them on. We'll get there eventually.
