New Look Website & New Hopes

As you can see I've been fiddling again and brightened up my website a bit, well a lot lol. I think it looks very colourful!!

I got a letter this morning from the Education Department saying that they are happy to inform me that Taylor has been granted a place at Woodnook Primary in September this year. This we already know as we went to see them yesterday with Kevin from Parent Partnership (he's also our SENFLO man!!) He came with us to view Stone Hey Autism Unit at our local SEN School a few weeks back and we expressed to him our concerns that Taylor was far too advanced to go there. After viewing Woodnook with us yesterday and them reassuring us that they are very confident they will be able to cope and handle him with no problems at all, he agreed with us that Stone Hey is out of the question (for now) and he will start Woodnook in September as originally planned. So i am absolutely ecstatic. I am also very anxious and terrified that it may go the other way and he won't cope, but as always I'm staying positive (not an easy thing for me to do being a pessimist!!)

I am in the next few weeks (if i haven't heard anything) going to get in touch with Lynda, Taylor's (to be honest I'm not sure what she is!!) Nursery lady!! She goes in from time to time to give Nursery ideas and check on how he's doing. I think she's kind of in charge of his Support Worker (will have to check up on that) anyway, i will get in touch with her soon to see what's happening with his statement. I recently filled out a review form which i thought was for his EEYAP funding but she said it was an application for his statement. We was told yesterday at school that if Taylor needs additional support at play time's and dinner times to put it in his statement (when it comes, there will be an additional support section on it) and they will make it possible for his support worker to be with him at them times as well as in class. That made my day as i was worried about him being on his own at dinner time and being a little overwhelmed by the amount of children he will be on his own with. Also we've been told if he requires assistance with going to the toilet or nappy changes to write that down too and once again they will make sure his support worker does that. Basically anything we think he will need help with to put it all down and his support worker will do it. Other than needing someone to take him to the toilet or change his nappy and sit with him at dinner time, i can't think of anything else that we'd really need help with. So i am really happy with the outcome of the viewing.

I will update again in the next few days. We haven't got any meetings or appointments until next month, so i will be updating on his daily events and progress until then. Take care & enjoy what's left of your weekend. xXx
