Hmmm, i don't know about Taylor having obsessions, i think i am getting obsessed with this website!!! I added a poems page yesterday and this morning while watching Taylor with his camera, taking pictures of feet, the dogs bum, table legs and my ear suddenly thought what a good idea it would be to add a page to the site just for his pictures. At the moment it's not worth it as like i said he will take picture's of ANYTHING, including a picture of his nice present he left in his potty the other day lol. I have all his pictures in a folder on the PC and there are some really good ones, so i might just flick through and see how many there are and create him a page of his own for the decent pictures he takes!!!
I bet you all think I'm mad, but at least this website is a good obsession!! It keeps me somewhat sane at the moment. It's definitely renewed my interest in the Internet and PC again!!! To be honest except for friends and family i didn't really expect anybody to be that interested in the website, but I've had a number of reassuring emails asking me to keep it up to date and they'd be checking on it regularly. The whole idea was to share my everyday experiences of dealing with an Autistic toddler with anybody who's interested. Plus it helps to 'get it off your chest' once in a while without having to bore your friends and family to death with it all..however supportive they are, it can be a bit depressing for them when all we ever do is babble on about our kids (especially when they don't have any!!) At least with this website other people can relate to it and as i found out, although you shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortunes, it's nice to have a chuckle when someone else's child has flooded their bathroom or thrown a wobbler in the super market. You feel less alone in the world.
I got the inspiration to create this website after months of research on the Internet and every bit of it being depressing and all doom and gloom, then suddenly i found a blog wrote by someone else with Autistic children and suddenly there was hope because of her upbeat spirit even when things don't go right. Reading her blog taught me a lot and made Autism sound fun, and since then i have found out that it can be, if you want it to be. The website is http://copingwithautism.blogspot.com go and have a read and go right back to the beginning, you'll learn a lot and have a few giggles too. She is a wonderful person and i email her from time to time with updates on Taylor's progress and she always emails back with words of wisdom and her support and i thank her very much. If it hadn't have been for finding her blog when i did i think i would have given up all hope and definitely wouldn't have started this website. Thank you Laura. xXx
