RED - AMBER - GREEN for GO!!!! Taylor's latest obsession!!! "Trappic lights moma" "trappic lights say stop, red says stop" "trappic lights say green for go"
He goes mad in the car when we see traffic lights, and fortunately for him the way we go to nursery and come home there are quite a few traffic lights!!!
We went to his speech therapy appointment on Thursday and i could have killed the little monkey, i thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and let her try one more time before i told her it was a waste of time and to STOP trying to force him to do it, he sat down, she showed him 2 pictures..one of a hoola hoop and one of a walkers crisp, then put the crisp on the table. Taylor immediately looked, said "hmm which one" pointed to the hoola hoop and said "that one please" she asked him for the picture so he gave her the picture and she gave him the crisp. He did that about 6 times in a row and said thank you every time, he even gave her the picture of the hoola hoop and when she gave him the crisp he gave her the crisp!!! We are going back again in 2 weeks (Tues 22nd) to try him again, we gonna do a little at a time and not over face him with too much at once, to get him into the swing of things. He even did it again at home. He went in my handbag for 'Mario' (DS) and found the pictures, he fetched them to me and said "which one moma" so i went and got both packs of crisps and tried him myself with Dana sat at the table for encouragement, he used the pictures and i gave him the crisps and he also used the pictures to give Dana some crisps too. Success at last!! To be honest i still don't think he needs them but I'll go along with it for now, she is however going to request that the head of ASD speech therapy come along and see him in the session for a second opinion, but i am also going to request that his speech therapist or both of them go back and visit him at nursery again as a lot has changed since the last time she saw him there.
He is asking for things all the time at nursery now and also stringing understandable sentences together, which she is saying he didn't do last time she saw him there. The whole idea of the PECs (again) is so that it will help him ask for something with the aid of the picture and use the pictures in a sentence but he does that already without the pictures. I don't know, I'm confused lol. I'll ask her next time we go to go to nursery and see him there then if she says that he still needs to use his PECs I'll go along with it for as long as he will co-operate. xXx
