Not much has happened this week, it's been a pretty chilled and quiet week as far as our weeks go lol.
Tuesday 8th July:
Had Speech Therapy at 11.15am and was really nervous as last time we went he threw a chair at her, bit her and kicked her numerous amounts of times. Surprisingly it went very very well. Claire the Speech Therapist Co-ordinator for Autistic children and young adults came to the session and worked her magic like last time lol. He was about 80% co-operative this time but we got along way with him in a short space of time and he was calm and although he had a few tantrums he did very very well and is now happily progressing onto the now and next stage of his PECS steadily.
2.30pm
We went to see Dr Khine, Taylor's Paediatrician for a routine check up and she was happy with his progress and couldn't believe the change in him from whens he saw him in October last year at his diagnosis meeting. He did everything she asked of him (last time he completely ignored her) and we asked her to check his feet as people have been telling us he's possibly Dyspraxic. She had him running around barefoot and jumping, skipping and standing on one foot, although on the last 2 he failed miserably lol. She said his running skills are a little delayed for his age but then when she examined his feet she realised it is due to the fact he hasn't yet developed the arches under his feet hence why he is so clumsy and has issues with his feet and running/walking on tip toe's. She said not to worry and they will naturally form by the time he is 5/7 yr old. She advised us to keep him in soft shoes like P.E pumps, slippers and canvas shoes so they don't hurt his feet or try moulding/shaping them too soon. I told her about him walking on the side of the inside of his feet and she said it's perfectly normal in that situation and not to worry too much, he will grow out of it and it won't leave any long lasting problems.
All in all Tuesday was a very good day lol. He had a bit of a bad night on Tuesday though, so he was very tired on Wednesday but was very good at Nursery. Thursday Sheila from Early Bird course came to do his home video. I had him stood at the kitchen sink playing with water and toys. Sounds fairly boring but it kept him calm and a lot went on. It showed how much his speech, imaginative and communication skills have developed and she was really impressed. It's the last session next week and I'm gutted!!!
Went to town today to get all his party things ready for Sunday. 3 days until his birthday (we're having party a day early) and he will be at Nursery on his birthday so mum bought him a t-shirt from Asda saying It's My Birthday on it to wear for Nursery that day lol. I will post again either Sunday or Monday and let u know how the party went!!
Take care, keep smiling and enjoy your weekend. xXx
