I took this picture of Taylor about 5 minutes before we left the house. He was in a very good mood and kept saying "my go school now momma" which was a god thing as he wasn't screaming NO!!! We got there and he played in the yard on the climbing frame for a few minutes then the bell went for registration so i took him to the classroom. He stopped dead at the door and would not go in. He didn't cry or scream, he was quite calm and kept saying "NO i go play now" and ran off back to the climbing frame!!! His teacher came out and said it would be OK for him to play a bit longer to help him settle, so i finally managed to escape and he smiled, waved and shouted "bye bye momma, see you later" then laughed and carried on playing. I came straight home and made a brew and had a cigarette!!!
Mum came at about 10.45am then my friend Tracy came so we all had a brew and typically talked about the kids and wondered if they'd both be OK!! Me & Mum went to pick Taylor up at 12pm (Elliot - Tracy's son stays at his school till 3.30pm) Mum waited in the doorway and i went in to get him, listening for the screams lol. None was heard so that boosted my confidence. I got to the classroom and he was sat at a table with his support worker playing with some cars. He ran over and gave me a big cuddle and very clearly said "my had good day at my school" (i love the way he uses 'my' instead of I when he's talking about himself, it sounds really sweet) we came out with no fuss at all. he spent 5 minutes playing on the climbing frame then we all came home. As soon as we got in he took his coat off and threw it on the floor, walked into the front room, dived on the sofa and said "shoeses off momma, my so very tired now" and lead down with his blanket!!! I put the TV on for him and as i was walking out of the room he shouted "momma, chips and milk please" so i made him some dinner. He ate it all and watched TV for a while then played his Thomas game on the laptop.
At 4.30pm Taylor suddenly decided he wanted me to go and hoover his bedroom, so he came up with me and sat on his bed while i did it and tidied up all his train set. He then got down on the floor with his bag of jigsaws and started making them, so i hoovered the stairs and other bedrooms. When I'd finished i asked him if he wanted to come back down and he said "no fanks, my play now" so i left him to it, came down and made tea. He is still up there now playing with his jigsaws and trains watching his Winnie The Pooh DVD. To be honest i don't think it will be long before he's asleep as he's absolutely shattered. I'm very surprised he lasted as long as he did when we got him home. I had visions of him falling asleep on the sofa as he was dropping on his feet when we picked him up from school. I emailed Nursery this afternoon with a picture of him in his uniform and got one back saying how grown up he looks in his uniform and that he looks like a different person. They're also missing him, they've said it's definitely a lot quieter without him hehehehe.
On the whole today has been a very good day and i am so proud of him and glad that he enjoyed his first day at school. I can't wait for tomorrow now to see if he enjoys his 2nd day as much as he enjoyed today!! I will update again soon. xXx
