Finally today i found out who Linda (not Lynda!!! as I've posted in recent posts) is, she's an EYSEN Teacher. She goes into Nursery and gives them advice, tips and techniques to help Taylor with everyday activities, routines, monitors his progress and also see's us briefly when we pick him up and at occasional meetings to update his IEPs which were reviewed last month and he is reaching his targets very well and quicker than usual. I thought Linda was in charge of Taylor's support worker but she isn't!!! We saw her today and i asked her and also asked for her number as i lost it (oopsies!!) Thank god i have that new Early Support File (well, I'm waiting for it to come but i downloaded all the pages and printed them off and made my own for now, as a rough copy) there is a section in there for people's phone numbers who you are in regular contact with, so i have wrote her profession and phone number in that section so i don't loose it again!!! Knowing my luck I'll loose the bloody folder lol.
I have been nosying on the Early Support website (i posted about yesterday) again tonight and I've been reading all about how to use the file and the pages in it. There is a section that has an example of someone who has already filled in the pages so it gives you a rough idea how to do it yourself, although I've found the pages are quite self explanatory. It also says if you're unsure to ask someone who you see on a regular basis to help you fill it in or get them to explain how to use it if you're unsure. I think i am OK now on how to use it but i will ask Linda next time i see her or Vicky (S&L Therapist) how to use a few of the sections I'm a little unsure about. As it says on the website, everybody is different so some people will use the file to it's full extent and others may only need to use certain sections. I also like the fact that it tells you on the website if you would like to type your information on the pages there are downloadable templates of the pages where you can type your information into. That is perfect for me as I'm terrible at writing (although my spelling isn't much better!!!) so it's a good way of making the file neat and tidy. I will look into that over the next few days and give it a go.
Anyway, we have a special day out planned on Thursday next week to Windmill Animal Farm at Birscough, near Southport with Taylor, Dana, mum and a very good friend of mine Prin (Claire) I got a text message off her last week asking me when the kids are off for half term and do i fancy a day out with them both with her. I jumped at the chance!! We talk a lot on messenger but very rarely these days get to meet up. She's only actually seen Taylor 3 times now i think. 1ce when he was a few days old, then when he was about 18 months old and again about 3/4 weeks ago (but only for an hour before she went and he hid in the living room!!) So obviously a LOT has changed and it should prove to be a very interesting day!! I just hope this rubbish weather we're having buggers off for the day and stays dry. I'm not bothered if it's cold, as long as it's dry!!! The farm is brilliant, kid friendly and full of animals. It also has a train and a park, as well as a picnic area indoors and a cafe too. We're covered if it does rain but it would be nice for it to stay dry so we can take Taylor on the train, he'd love that. Obviously i will update on the day's events when they've happened!!!
Not much has happened and we haven't got any meetings or appointments planned until 3rd April so i will probably leave it now and update over the weekend or sometime next week. Hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy whatever it you do. We have a christening to go to on Sunday so i will update how Taylor copes with that either Sunday night or Monday. xXx
