Happy 4th Wedding Anniversary to US!!!!! Me & Tony have been married 4 year today. I know that doesn't particularly have anything to do with this blog but i just thought I'd share my special day with you all!!! I'm sorry i haven't updated for a while, thing's have been bedlam here lately. Luckily it hasn't been Taylor this time!! Tony has been out of work since early January and unfortunately there hasn't been any work going at all so we've been in-undated with bills, bills and even more bills. He went for an interview on Monday and thank the lord got the job and started yesterday so i have crawled from out of my 'can't be arsed' shell and come back to life!!! I have been spending a lot of time with Dana this past week, more so than Taylor for a change. It has been nice and obviously I've still spent time with TJ but he's been ill again and spent all weekend at his Nana's as he didn't want to come home!!! Dana was poorly too but with Taylor not being here it has given us time to spend on our own together which made a nice change.
She has been a little star over the past 2 weeks, since our last argument about why TJ gets more attention than her. I think i finally got through to her this time as she's been like a completely different child and has really helped out with him. She seems to have a lot more patience with him now than before, how long it will last i don't know but I'm glad it's lasted this long.
I finished college at 8pm tonight and at 8.15pm i got home and she was stood on the doorstep waiting for me and said "good timing mum, I've just made you a brew" nothing really out of the ordinary but it was nice to come home to that instead of a tantrum because I've been at college and she's been 'stuck' at home with Taylor!!!
We have a meeting with Taylor's Speech Therapist tomorrow at 10am and I'm NOT looking forward to it! She is still trying to push his PECS through and he DOESN'T need them. She's going to get told to let it drop and focus on his now and next PECS and go into Nursery and observe him with his speech. The reason she wants him to go back to using them is because when she went in before he wasn't (according to her) speaking or asking for things. We have had numerous people at Nursery now telling us they are having trouble these day's with keeping him quiet lol. She needs to go and see him again at Nursery and see what he's like now, although he was never as bad as she made out.
We have also been told that we have a meeting at Nursery again on 19th May in the afternoon with Nursery, SENFLO, Linda (EYSEN Teacher) Louise (TJ's key worker at Nursery) Sue (Nursery Manager) Salma (TJ's support worker at Nursery) Speech therapist and about 3 more people!!!!!! to update his IEP's and also put in place all the things he needs for when he starts school in September. We are still waiting for his Statement to come through, but when that does we can get in touch with Woodnook (the school TJ will be going to in September) and give them a copy to pass on to his support worker to get familiar with before he starts. It's so confusing but it's all coming together nicely.
Also to our amazement Taylor's key worker at Nursery has asked us to put in a good word for her with Woodnook & SENFLO and see if it's at all possible for her to follow him from Nursery to Woodnook in September as his support worker. I was so shocked when she asked us but i can't think of anybody else better for the job. She knows him well, he likes her a lot and she knows how to deal with him and what wind's him up etc. She's be the perfect candidate and it will be good for her too. I need to look into it a bit more first, as i don't know what qualifications she will need other than the one's she already has. Tony said to have a word with his sister Terri as she followed their nephew Ryan through mainstream school as his support worker. I will ring her tomorrow and then have a word with Louise about it and if she is serious i will ring SENFLO and see what they say. I can't see Woodnook saying no as they will have to apply for a support worker from an agency and they will have to start from scratch with him etc, it would benefit Taylor more to have Louise with him. It's definitely worth looking into further.
As you all will know, well may be not all of you but mostly the people who are dealing with Autism, it is April and April is Autism Awareness Month. I have been looking out for the Autism Ribbons in shops but so far i have been unsuccessful, so i have decided that because almost every shop i go into sells the Cancer Ribbons (which i buy every time a new one is available and pin them to my purse and handbag) to ask them if they have any and if i can't get any joy by the end of the month i am going to write a nasty letter to our local MP and complain. Asda's are always selling the Tommie's Campaign badges (i have them too) largely because they sponsor them but i have never yet seen a badge or ribbon for Autism and even if I'd have seen one before Taylor was diagnosed i would have bought one, i collect them all!!! I'm not against Cancer etc but i am against the fact that there badges and ribbons are always on sale in every shop you go in every week of the year yet there is never anything else on sale, like Autism ribbons, Dyslexia ribbons, ADHD ribbons etc etc they all exist and have awareness months but you never see their badges and ribbons on sale anywhere and it's NOT fair. I will eventually buy one off the net if i can't find one anywhere in shops but it's not the point!!!!
OK, tantrum over now!!! I will update again tomorrow or over the weekend, I'm off to bed now as need to be up at 8am and I'm not good at morning's!!! xXx
